Unsupervised Creativity in a Digitally Chaotic World.
Channel 404 Studio was founded by a band of misfits, game show junkies, and neon-loving weirdos who believe entertainment should be more than predictable — it should be electric. We’re here to craft shows that blow expectations out of the water and leave the audience yelling, laughing, and questioning their own logic.
We make high-energy game shows that don’t play by the rules. Every idea gets filtered through chaos, comedy, and connection — all designed to deliver something fresh, inclusive, and absurdly fun for both players and viewers.
Every good glitch starts with a system error.
Back in the early 2000s, Retro was running a small D&D studio under the d20 license, juggling game design, layout, and con appearances with ramen-budget realism. That hustle—equal parts scrappy and passionate—planted the seeds for something bigger. Then came UBCon 2003, where a last-minute Jeopardy-style panel called Confluence left the crowd baffled, amused, and wildly entertained… even if it had no real structure. That chaos? Turns out, it stuck.
Fast forward nearly two decades, and the dream didn’t fade — it evolved. Fueled by a lifelong love of game shows, absurd humor, and a deep desire to build something funny, inclusive, and totally unhinged, Retro and a few equally wild creatives formed Channel 404 Studio.
We didn’t start with funding. We didn’t wait for permission. We built this thing ourselves — buzzers, scoreboards, websites, and all. Every rule in our shows was bent on purpose. Every mechanic was designed with laughter and unpredictability in mind. And every single idea was a chance to do something different.
Because we don’t just make game shows.
We make memories that glitch the system.
The madman with a mic and a lifelong love of game shows. Part sarcastic gremlin, part passionate visionary.
The code conjurer behind every glitch, animation, and weird interactive. If it lights up, Logic had something to do with it.
She’s the spreadsheet sorceress who keeps us on track and glitter-free.
If there’s a wire to solder or a system to reboot mid-show, Chris is already on it.
Master of clocks, cue cards, and keeping the chaos contained (barely).
We’re just getting started. More shows. More chaos. More opportunities to bring our unique flavor of nonsense to conventions, streams, and maybe even your living room.
Just don’t expect normal — that’s not in our programming.
